I speak softly
So as not to disturb her unconsciousness
Held close to me as we speed along this journey
Be it life or just highway one
The surrounding cacophony does not affect her
The noises of men, drunk with glee
Or perhaps jack and coke (hold the coke)
The screeching of wheels and the driving of rain
Still, she sleeps on
Undisturbed
Unaffected
Nestled somewhere between my arms and my soul
